All of us accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a reservation. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up until September, I had been much like you. We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our home, enforced on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This implies that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost continuously when the anxiety set in, I started to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who stroll past the home. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of females at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage children. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
