We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a reservation. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had actually been similar to you. Triggering to work every day, worried more about what I was going to make with the day rather than what my neighbours would depend on. Then in the third week, a despair started to creep in. I had absolutely nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I started to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our home, imposed on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes practically continuously when the depression embeded in, I began to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females tackled their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and state that most women at house do what I do, chat and stop with the other females. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
