All of us accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a doubt. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up until September, I had been just like you. I signed up with the ranks of the long-lasting sick, continued to get my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The first few weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little tasks that pile up done. In the 3rd week, a malaise began to creep in. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no smoking policy in our home, enforced on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes practically continuously when the depression set in, I started to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and say that a lot of females in your home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and two, you don't understand the half of everything. I believe it's time I offered you a complete photo of our street and individuals who reside on it. It will be available in helpful in the future. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and then next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her other half and is in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I live with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some beginners. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Naturally, whenever I spoke to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never ever spoke with him, despite the fact that what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
