All of us accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a second thought. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Then in the third week, a malaise started to creep in. I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking policy in our house, imposed on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 houses throughout the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of individuals who stroll past your home. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy deal with their two teenage sons. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her partner and remains in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never talked to him, even though what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
