All of us go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. I joined the ranks of the long-lasting ill, continued to get my paycheque, and sat and took it simple. The very first couple of weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little tasks that pile up done. In the 3rd week, a despair began to sneak in. I had absolutely nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, imposed on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses throughout the street. I began to choose up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your house. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and state that many females in your home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and two, you don't know the half of it all. I believe it's time I offered you a total picture of our street and individuals who reside on it. It will come in beneficial later on. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage sons. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her partner and is in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and papa Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Of course, whenever I spoke to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this gap in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City. I never talked to him, although what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
