All of us support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had actually been much like you. Triggering to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day instead of what my neighbours would depend on. Then, I established a problem with my knee. A semi-serious issue. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I could walk, run, and climb, however it did stop me from driving, and that in turn stopped me from working. I signed up with the ranks of the long-term sick, continued to get my paycheque, and sat and took it simple. The first couple of weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little tasks that pile up done. Then in the third week, a despair started to creep in. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to kill. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, implemented on the bulk (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mother). This suggests that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking nearly continuously when the depression embeded in, I started to see the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past your house. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and say that many ladies at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not know the half of all of it. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and after that beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her spouse and is in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Of course, whenever I talked to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this gap in my understanding. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City. I never spoke to him, even though what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
