We have a no smoking policy in our house, enforced on the bulk (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking nearly continually when the anxiety embeded in, I started to discover the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past your home. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and say that a lot of women in your home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have two replies. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her partner and is in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a great time.
