All of us support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up till September, I had been just like you. Triggering to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. I established a problem with my knee. A semi-serious problem. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I could stroll, run, and climb, but it did stop me from driving, and that in turn stopped me from working. I joined the ranks of the long-lasting sick, continued to get my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The first few weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little jobs that accumulate done. In the third week, a despair started to sneak in. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking policy in our home, imposed on the bulk (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost constantly when the anxiety set in, I began to see the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past your house. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of females in the house do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you don't understand the half of it all. I believe it's time I provided you a total photo of our street and individuals who live on it. It will be available in helpful later on. It's a extremely little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
