We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a 2nd idea. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. After smoking nearly constantly when the anxiety set in, I started to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the home. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and state that a lot of ladies at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
