We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a second thought. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of individuals would disrupt me now, and say that a lot of women at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other females. It's a extremely little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
