From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After cigarette smoking nearly continuously when the anxiety embeded in, I started to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and say that a lot of women at house do what I do, chat and stop with the other females. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all).
