With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of individuals who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would disrupt me now, and state that most females at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have 2 replies. Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy cope with their two teenage boys. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
