We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a 2nd thought. Setting off to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. After smoking cigarettes practically continuously when the anxiety embeded in, I started to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of individuals would interrupt me now, and say that most women at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. She recently separated from her spouse and remains in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time.
