After smoking cigarettes nearly continuously when the anxiety set in, I started to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past your house. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat.
