We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second idea. Setting off to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy deal with their 2 teenage children. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her husband and is in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I live with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Naturally, whenever I talked to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this gap in my understanding. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City. I never talked to him, despite the fact that what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
