With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat.
