We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up up until September, I had been similar to you. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to make with the day instead of what my neighbours would be up to. I developed a problem with my knee. A semi-serious issue. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I might stroll, run, and climb, but it did stop me from driving, and that in turn stopped me from working. I joined the ranks of the long-term sick, continued to receive my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The first few weeks were great I. managed to get all the little jobs that accumulate done. In the third week, a despair started to creep in. I had absolutely nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to kill. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, implemented on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). This implies that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After smoking nearly constantly when the depression embeded in, I began to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and say that a lot of females in the house do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you don't know the half of it all. I believe it's time I offered you a total photo of our street and the people who live on it. It will can be found in helpful later on. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. She recently separated from her spouse and remains in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I live with my mum Chrissie (45) and papa Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Of course, whenever I spoke with them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this gap in my understanding. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never spoke with him, despite the fact that what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I mention him.
