We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second idea. I started to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and say that many women at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you do not know the half of everything. I think it's time I gave you a total photo of our street and individuals who reside on it. It will come in useful later. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that beside that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
