All of us go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. The first couple of weeks were great I. managed to get all the little tasks that pile up done. Then in the third week, a despair started to creep in. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our home, imposed on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking practically continually when the anxiety embeded in, I started to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of individuals who stroll past your home. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and state that a lot of ladies in your home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and two, you don't know the half of all of it. I believe it's time I offered you a total picture of our street and the people who live on it. It will come in beneficial later. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. She recently separated from her husband and is in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I talked to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this gap in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City. I never spoke with him, although what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
