From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes nearly continuously when the depression set in, I began to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past your house. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and say that the majority of women at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies.
