With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most individuals would interrupt me now, and state that the majority of ladies at house do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this website is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
