We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a 2nd thought. After cigarette smoking almost constantly when the depression set in, I began to see the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past your house. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and say that many women in your home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and two, you don't know the half of everything. I think it's time I offered you a total image of our street and individuals who survive on it. It will come in beneficial in the future. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
