We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a second thought. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I might walk, run, and climb, but it did stop me from driving, and that in turn stopped me from working.

We have a no smoking policy in our home, enforced on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This indicates that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking practically continually when the anxiety set in, I started to see the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and say that many ladies at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you do not know the half of all of it. I believe it's time I gave you a complete picture of our street and individuals who live on it. It will come in useful in the future. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
