I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no smoking policy in our home, imposed on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). This indicates that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking almost constantly when the anxiety embeded in, I started to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past your house. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage children. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. She recently separated from her other half and is in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I never ever talked to him, although what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
