We all accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had actually been much like you. Setting off to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. I established a problem with my knee. A semi-serious issue. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I could walk, run, and climb, however it did stop me from driving, which in turn stopped me from working. I joined the ranks of the long-term ill, continued to receive my paycheque, and sat and took it simple. The first couple of weeks were great I. managed to get all the little jobs that pile up done. Then in the third week, a malaise started to sneak in. I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to kill. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, imposed on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes throughout the street. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would disrupt me now, and say that a lot of females in your home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you do not know the half of it all. I think it's time I gave you a complete image of our street and the people who reside on it. It will be available in helpful later. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
