We have a no smoking policy in our home, imposed on the bulk (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). This indicates that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking practically continually when the depression set in, I began to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and say that a lot of females in your home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have two replies. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her husband and is in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a good time.
