We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up up until September, I had been much like you. We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, imposed on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This implies that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes practically continually when the anxiety set in, I started to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your home. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of ladies in your home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have two replies. Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
