We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a 2nd thought. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of people would interrupt me now, and say that most females at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other females. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her husband and is in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and papa Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I spoke with them, I utilized terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City. I never spoke to him, even though what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
