We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a 2nd thought. Setting off to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. After cigarette smoking nearly continuously when the anxiety set in, I started to see the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who stroll past your house. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and say that most ladies at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and two, you don't understand the half of everything. I believe it's time I offered you a total picture of our street and individuals who survive on it. It will can be found in helpful later. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. She recently separated from her hubby and is in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers.
