The first few weeks were great I. managed to get all the little jobs that accumulate done. Then in the third week, a despair started to sneak in. I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to kill. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, implemented on the bulk (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). This indicates that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost constantly when the anxiety set in, I started to see the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and state that most females in your home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. It will can be found in beneficial later. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her hubby and remains in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time.
