From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two homes across the street. After smoking practically continuously when the depression embeded in, I started to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of people would interrupt me now, and say that a lot of females at house do what I do, talk and stop with the other ladies. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her partner and remains in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time.
