We all accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. She recently separated from her husband and is in the process of moving.
