We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had actually been just like you. We have a no smoking policy in our home, implemented on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This indicates that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After cigarette smoking practically continuously when the anxiety set in, I started to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and say that the majority of females at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other females. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
