We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a second thought. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up till September, I had been much like you. We have a no smoking policy in our home, imposed on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). This indicates that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking practically constantly when the anxiety set in, I began to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females tackled their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and then next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her spouse and remains in the process of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and father Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Naturally, whenever I spoke to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this gap in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never ever talked to him, despite the fact that what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
