We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a 2nd idea. After smoking nearly constantly when the anxiety set in, I began to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and say that a lot of women at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and two, you don't understand the half of it all. I believe it's time I provided you a complete photo of our street and individuals who survive on it. It will come in useful later on. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
