We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a 2nd idea. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that many women at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you do not know the half of everything. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
