We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second idea. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past your house. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that a lot of ladies in your home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
