We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second idea. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. After smoking practically continually when the anxiety embeded in, I began to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who stroll past your home. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would disrupt me now, and say that most women at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not understand the half of everything. I think it's time I gave you a total picture of our street and the people who reside on it. It will come in useful later on. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. She recently separated from her husband and remains in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time.
