We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a second thought. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up up until September, I had actually been similar to you. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day instead of what my neighbours would be up to. I established a problem with my knee. A semi-serious issue. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I could stroll, run, and climb, however it did stop me from driving, which in turn stopped me from working. I signed up with the ranks of the long-lasting ill, continued to get my paycheque, and sat and took it simple. The first few weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little jobs that pile up done. Then in the third week, a malaise began to sneak in. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking policy in our house, enforced on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After cigarette smoking almost constantly when the depression set in, I started to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would disrupt me now, and say that the majority of ladies at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other ladies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. She recently separated from her hubby and remains in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and papa Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I talked to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City. I never ever spoke to him, even though what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
