We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, imposed on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking almost constantly when the depression embeded in, I started to see the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of people would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of females at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other ladies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this website is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her hubby and is in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and papa Bob (52 ). Next along are some beginners. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. I never talked to him, despite the fact that what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
