We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a 2nd idea. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and say that many ladies at house do what I do, chat and stop with the other ladies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this website is the removed home where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage kids. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
