All of us accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat.
