All of us support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up up until September, I had been much like you. Triggering to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to finish with the day instead of what my neighbours would depend on. Then, I established a problem with my knee. The very first couple of weeks were great I. managed to get all the little jobs that accumulate done. Then in the third week, a malaise started to sneak in. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our home, imposed on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two homes across the street. After smoking nearly continuously when the depression embeded in, I started to see the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the home. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most individuals would interrupt me now, and state that the majority of women at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other females. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and after that beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy cope with their two teenage boys. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
