We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our home, enforced on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two homes across the street. After smoking almost continuously when the anxiety embeded in, I began to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past your home. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would disrupt me now, and state that a lot of women in your home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her partner and is in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time.
