All of us go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up till September, I had actually been just like you. Setting off to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would depend on. Then, I established a problem with my knee. A semi-serious problem. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I could stroll, run, and climb, however it did stop me from driving, and that in turn stopped me from working. I joined the ranks of the long-lasting ill, continued to get my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The very first few weeks were great I. managed to get all the little tasks that pile up done. In the third week, a despair started to creep in. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking policy in our home, implemented on the majority (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mother). From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the home. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that the majority of women at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other ladies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this website is the separated home where Steve and Mandy deal with their 2 teenage boys. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her hubby and is in the process of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I live with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Of course, whenever I spoke to them, I utilized terms like a neighbour to bridge this gap in my understanding. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City. I never ever talked to him, even though what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
