We have a no smoking policy in our house, enforced on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). This indicates that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking practically constantly when the anxiety embeded in, I started to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who stroll past the home. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and say that many females at house do what I do, chat and stop with the other ladies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
