We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this site is the separated house where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage sons. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
