From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes practically continually when the depression embeded in, I started to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of individuals would disrupt me now, and say that the majority of women at house do what I do, talk and stop with the other females. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
