We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a 2nd thought. After smoking practically continuously when the depression set in, I began to discover the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females tackled their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of individuals would disrupt me now, and say that most ladies at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
