With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and state that a lot of women at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other females. On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's house. She recently separated from her partner and is in the procedure of moving.
