We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a reservation. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up till September, I had actually been just like you. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After cigarette smoking almost constantly when the depression embeded in, I began to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your house. I began with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and state that many women at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you don't understand the half of everything. I think it's time I provided you a total picture of our street and individuals who survive on it. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy deal with their two teenage boys. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
