We have a no smoking policy in our house, enforced on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost constantly when the anxiety embeded in, I started to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and say that many ladies in the house do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have 2 replies. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons.
