We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a doubt. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up until September, I had been just like you. We have a no smoking policy in our home, imposed on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). This indicates that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking nearly constantly when the depression set in, I started to discover the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of individuals who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and state that most females in the house do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have two replies. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this site is the separated house where Steve and Mandy deal with their two teenage boys. They are in their late 30's.
